Earth from Space: NASA 15 Amazing Things in 15 Years. Enjoy this journey.

NASA and other space agencies had launched satellites to study Earth before. But the past 15 years have produced a more comprehensive look at Earth from space than any other period in history. At a time when our planet is undergoing critically important changes, this global view offers not only stunning imagery but also vitally important information about how Earth is changing.

TIME LAPSE VIDEO PHOTOGRAPHY OVER 6 MONTHS IN SPACE SHOWS IT ALL TO YOU HERE IN 6 MINUTES

During his six-month “Blue Dot” mission on the International Space Station, German astronaut Alexander Gerst would often leave his camera running while he worked and did experiments.

He shared many of the resulting images during his journey, which turned him into something of a social media celebrity – Twitter’s introduction to the awe-inspiring views of space travel.

Now back on Earth, Gerst has released a six-minute timelapse made up of some of the best shots from his ISS tenure. The video includes auroras, clouds, stars, oceans, lit-up cities, lightning and glimpses of both the ISS and other spacecraft.

This image shows the boot of Italy with Sicily at its toe, spread across this panorama taken on October 21 by astronaut Alexander Gerst aboard the International Space Station. Photo: N...

The mysterious patterns from a drones eye view in the middle of the Nazca desert

Strange markings in the Naza Desert. Picture aerial view image www.spydrones.com

ETCHED into the land at the Nazca Desert are vast figures of humans, creatures and plants, spread over 1000 square kilometres. Their creation remains somewhat of a mystery.

Lonely Planet ventured to the desert and detailed its perplexing sights in the book The World’s Great Wonders. Here’s what they found.

The drone of the propeller blades is deafening. The small plane is being gently buffeted around by the winds. Below lies the vast, red-brown expanse of the Nazca Desert, crisscrossed with snaking ravines.

A yell pierces through the din of the propeller. From the copilot’s seat your guide is pointing excitedly at something up ahead. Craning to see through the cockpit windscreen, you catch a glimpse of some lines on the arid plain below.

As you get closer, the form of an animal...

VIEW ALL SATELLITES ORBITING EARTH IN THE ONE IMAGE HERE

sattelites orbiting-earth-at any time in one image www.spy-drones.com

As we gear up for an era where space travel becomes more common thanks to the efforts of companies like Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, territory that was unchartered just a few decades ago could soon become commonplace.

Even those of us with no interest in traveling to space have come to rely on The Final Frontier more so than ever before, thanks to an increasing number of services that rely on satellites orbiting the Earth.

Cell phones and in-dash navigation systems rely on GPS satellites, Dish and DirecTV obviously use satellite feeds, and satellite communications systems offered by the likes of Inmarsat and Iridium continue to proliferate across various industries. Just how crowded is it getting up there above the Earth’s atmosphere?

The answer: Pretty...

PLANET EARTH VIDEO VIEW FROM SPACE SHOWS HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS

AMAZING AERIAL VIEWS OF THIS PLACE WE CALL ‘PLANET EARTH’
“Planet Earth” is a 2006 television series produced by the BBC Natural History Unit. After I have watched all eleven episodes, I tried to compress all the beautiful images in one video. That’s how I come up with this marvelous 13 minutes. If you really like this I suggest you to watch the whole documentary because at the end of each fifty-minute episode, a ten-minute featurette takes a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of filming the series.

VIDEO DEPICTING A BIRDS EYE VIEW OF EARTHS GREAT ASPECTS FROM SPACE

BIRDS EYE VIEW OF WHAT AN ASTRONAUT SEES FROM SPACE

AAA

An intimate tour of Earth’s most impressive landscapes… as captured by astronauts with their digital cameras. Dr. Justin Wilkinson from NASA’s astronaut team describes the special places that spacemen focus on whenever they get a moment.

We start with the coast of Namibia in southwestern Africa, the very dry desert coast of the Namib Desert. You can see a cloud band butting up against the shore and some straight sand dunes in the lower left of the picture. Yeah those are big red sand dunes that the astronauts say is one of the most beautiful sites that you can get when you’re flying.

Coming into the view on the left is an impact crater right in the middle of the picture, right about now and some wind streaks...

VIDEO OF THE MIGHTY POWER OF SUN FLARES – BE AMAZED

I THANK THE AUTHOR FOR THIS MIGHTY INSIGHT INTO THE SUN

If you look at our Sun the right way, it is magnificent. For proof, I offer this stunningly beautiful video of the nearest star taken on July 19, 2012 by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. If you can watch this without your jaw hanging open and your mind aflame with wonder, then I cannot help you.

What you’re seeing is the profound impact of magnetism on the material in the Sun. I’ve described this effect before (with lots of juicy details here), but in a nutshell: The gas inside the Sun is so hot it’s ionized, stripped of electrons...
